7. Inhumans Being As Great As Guardians Of The Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy was a revelation this year. The initial announcement about the film going in to production brought mass confusion to the comic book movie community. "Who are these guys?" was the general view of the situation, as people wondered why Marvel Studios had opted to make a film about such an obscure group of characters when they have an extremely rich catalogue of more popular characters to choose from. They smashed it, however, and the movie was a roaring success. It is the second highest-grossing movie of 2014 as this is being written - behind only Transformers: Age of Extinction - and it took the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a new level. The equally obscure Inhumans movie has been announced for Phase 3 and confidence in Marvel Studios being able to pull it off is now sky-high - but the fact is they'll struggle to equal the success of Guardians of the Galaxy. It could be a step too far, as characters with destructive hypersonic voices, prehensile hair and the ability to cause earthquakes take the levels of a ridiculousness to new levels. Everyone hopes it'll be a success, but Marvel really are pushing it with this one.
