MCU Phase 4: 10 Films That MUST Happen (That Marvel Won't Make)

7. The Defenders

Asgardians Of The Galaxy
Marvel Comics

Thanks to the Netflix series, any suggestion of The Defenders joining the MCU would reasonably make you think of Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Daredevil. However, the original Defenders were a trio, two of which are already in the MCU, with the third being a recently acquired property.

Hulk, Doctor Strange and Namor, The Sub Mariner were the first group to go by the collective moniker, and there’s a slim possibility that they might team up again. Silver Surfer joined later, but let’s not run before we walk.

We know a Doctor Strange sequel is coming, with the first movie’s post credit scene suggesting Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Mordo would be the villain.

However, we know very little else about the project. If Hulk’s solo movie is off the table, he’ll likely be a supporting character elsewhere. He literally crash landed on Strange’s doorstep on Earth, so there’s a definite possibility of a team up.

As for Namor, we as of yet have no idea how the character will be introduced. There appears to be some confusion regarding the character's rights with Universal, but for Marvel's sake, here's hoping they can figure something out eventually.
