MCU Phase 4: 10 Films That MUST Happen (That Marvel Won't Make)

8. Hulk 2

Asgardians Of The Galaxy
Marvel Studios

Hulk has had two solo movies in modern memory, and both were incredibly sub par. Admittedly, the Eric Bana movie was pre MCU, and Ang Lee’s epic directorial style from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Brokeback Mountain just didn’t work either.

Ed Norton’s crack at the character was the MCU’s first, but in many fans’ minds it’s still the worst offering from the Cinematic Universe to date. Norton might have redeemed the character in Avengers, but contract disputes put paid to that and the torch was passed to Mark Ruffalo.

Since then, Hulk on screen has become as beloved as he is in the comics, with great supporting roles - his arc in Ragnarok is one of the most entertaining Marvel has ever done.

Despite this, there seems to be a little bit of reluctance when it comes to Hulk stepping out on his own again. He demonstrated some growth in Infinity War, and the more optimistic fans believe Hulk and Banner’s communication could be laying the groundwork for a Professor Hulk storyline.

While we’re wishing though, we might as well go all in on the optimism of Hulk getting another starring role too...
