MCU Phase 4: 10 Major Marvel Heroes Who Must Appear
6. Moondragon
Moondragon’s biggest link to the MCU is through Drax, who is her father in the comics. One of Drax’s defining features in his appearances so far has been his need for vengeance after her death, as well as the death of her mother. It’s what causes Drax to tell Roman the Guardians’ location on Knowhere and leads him to attack Thanos in Infinity War. But we’ve never actually seen her death on screen, which means that she could actually still be alive.
Drax’s origin hasn’t really been discussed either, but they may well need to simplify it in order to use it as foundation for Moondragon. Assuming they can though, Moondragon would be a terrific new hero in Marvel’s corner.
After training her mind and body to unlock her psychic potential, Moondragon becomes an incredibly powerful force. This alone makes her stand out; there’s no radioactive spider, super serum or tech suits here. It’s all her. Doctor Strange is similar, but her power dwarfs his. Her strength - both physically and telepathically - rivals Thanos, which might be a reason Marvel are holding her back for now.
She’d be the MCU’s first openly queer character too if they remained true to her roots, which is a bonus if the story is told well.
