5. Nova
Many fans were a little disappointed not to see Nova show up in the first Guardians Of The Galaxy, especially given the presence of the Nova Corps. Considering there were five heroes to establish and four villains, however, it’s understandable as to why Gunn left him out of the film in the end. Vol. 2 had to add Mantis and the literally planet sized plot of Ego, not to mention tell the story of Yondu's redemption.
In essence, those hoping to see Nova make his grand debut were left disappointed, and with all the James Gunn controversy putting a spanner in Vol. 3’s works, Guardians no longer looks to be the path of least resistance for Nova. If the mutterings of expanding into a Cosmic Universe are true though, Nova simply must be a part of it.
We’ve seen confidence and bravado before, of course, but Nova has his own brand. Richard Rider is often compulsive and begins his career as a Nova Centurion with very little knowledge or experience. Done well, Nova could be the Green Lantern movie DC never made.
