3. X-23
While the X-Men themselves are being left off this list, the younger X-23 seen in Logan doesn’t quite fall under that canopy and would be a fantastic addition. By that metric, Wolverine would be up for grabs too, but Hugh Jackman has made it clear Logan was his send off.
Casting Dafne Keen as X-23 again might suggest a confusing link across the Logan universe and MCU that Marvel would never be able to follow up on and, if they were to somehow incorporate it into the MCU, it would mean no Professor X either. It would be a shame to lose such a talented young actress, but Marvel may even age her up like the comics and go in a completely different direction.
Whichever way they head, with the right development, she could be a brilliant character. She’d supply the carnage and rage of Wolverine without Hugh Jackman’s muscular shadow bearing down on her, and the claws in her feet as well as her hands would add an acrobatic element to action scenes.
