MCU Phase 4: 10 Mind-Blowing Secrets & Theories You Need To Know

5. The Young Avengers

The Dark Avengers
Marvel Comics

The Avengers as they’ve existed for the four previous movies clearly cannot continue. Tony & Natasha are dead, while Steve has gone to another timeline. Of the three remaining, it doesn’t seem like Hulk’s heart is in it anymore, while Hawkeye is due to step down in his Disney+ show.

That just leaves Thor, who may well step away too depending on what goes on in Love & Thunder.

Black Panther, Spider-Man and Captain Marvel seem primed to step in, but Marvel may well go in a completely different direction: the Young Avengers.

Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang seem like easy additions, while Monica Rambeau from Captain Marvel could easily step in as Spectrum. If the rumoured casting of Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop is true, they’ll have a box office ready name at the helm too.

Whatever direction the MCU goes to preserve its Avengers name, there’s a risk. Adding all the big guns together could be suffocating, and could easily end up as less as the sum of their parts. It feels like a stale attempt to get back the original magic too. The Young Avengers though offer a fresh perspective.
