MCU Phase 4: 10 Movies Marvel Should Include

4. The Unworthy Thor

Many had thought the Thor franchise dead and buried by the time Thor: Ragnarok entered production, and yet with Taika Waititi at the helm, the film ended up being one of the best MCU films yet.

In light of that, and taking into the account the wasted potential of the Thor series up until now, Marvel must surely capitalise on Ragnarok's reception and sanction a follow up. There is so much scope for a sequel that the only project that could possibly match it is Doctor Strange 2, and the first didn't nearly have the same amount of buzz Ragnarok did when it launched.

Following on from the tragedy that's befallen Thor in... well, pretty much every Marvel film he's featured, starting this next one out by making him unworthy would be an interesting choice, and would allow Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie to enter the stage as the new God of Thunder as well. Chris Hemsworth and Thompson are due to star alongside each other in an upcoming Men in Black spin-off, and with their comradeship in Ragnarok having worked so well, it'd be a huge shame if they couldn't return for a follow-up.

Introduce Gorr the God Butcher - or even Mangog - as the new adversary, bring Asgard to Midgard, and find a way to continue exploring the zaniest parts of Jack Kirby's worlds, and you have a surefire case to make for why Thor should stay on after the fourth Avengers.
