MCU Phase 4: 10 Signs It Could Be A Crushing Disappointment

8. Doctor Strange 2 Could Be A Rush Job

Director Scott Derrickson left Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness over reported "creative differences," and it's widely believed that's down to Marvel Studios using this movie as a sequel to WandaVision, and to set the stage for countless future stories.

That sounds an awful lot like Iron Man 2, right?

We're not necessarily suggesting that this sequel is going to be a disaster (especially with Sam Raimi reportedly at the helm), but those promises of it being the MCU's first horror movie were clearly bogus, as Disney is never going to head down that route with a PG-13 superhero franchise.

Intent on meeting the existing 2021 release date, it feels like Marvel Studios is rushing to hit that rather than giving Raimi the time to deliver his own unique take on the Sorcerer Supreme. After all, he's no doubt working with concept art and ideas which were dreamt up when Derrickson was in charge, and that just doesn't quite sit right with us.
