MCU Phase 4: 10 Signs It Could Be A Crushing Disappointment
2. TV Shows Are Something Totally New For The MCU
On the one hand, it's hard not to be excited about the MCU TV shows coming to Disney+. After all, it means we get to spend even more time in this shared world, and characters like The Falcon, Hawkeye, and She-Hulk receiving the spotlight is no bad thing.
However, the small screen isn't necessarily Marvel Studios' area of expertise, and there have already been some questionable decisions. Jeremy Slater, for example, has been put in charge of Moon Knight despite the fact his credits include 2015's Fantastic Four reboot and the underwhelming Umbrella Academy series on Netflix.
Kevin Feige and company weren't in charge of the Defenders shows that aired on Netflix, but those ended up disappointing, and superheroes have a spotty track record on television in general. It sounds like Marvel Studios is doing the right thing by limiting the number of episodes, but these really could go either way.
If Marvel Studios drops the ball on these shows, then Phase 4 could easily fall to pieces.
