MCU Phase 4: 10 Signs It Could Be A Crushing Disappointment

3. No Avengers Movie

Avengers: Endgame became the highest-grossing movie of all-time last year, but for reasons which aren't entirely clear, Earth's Mightiest Heroes won't be assembling again in Phase 4. It's true that topping what's come before would be damn near impossible, but no one said they had to, and there was a very logical place to take the team next.

At the end of Black Panther, T'Challa set up a base in California, so the West Coast Avengers coming together to battle a smaller scale threat than Thanos would have worked nicely.

As it stands, it looks like the stage is being set for an eventual Young Avengers project, and while that's exciting... it's also somewhat underwhelming. It feels like a team-up destined for Disney+, and a Black Widow movie happening instead of A-Force (the female team of Avengers), is another strange decision.

Phase 4 has potential - as we've mentioned, there's a lot to get excited about - but no Avengers movie definitely lessens the impact of this next wave of stories.
