MCU Phase 4: 10 Ways Marvel Could Reboot Blade
2. A Strange Team-Up
At a glance, Doctor Strange and Blade might not seem like the likeliest of allies. Both certainly fight against the supernatural, but with one's methods erring on the more lethal side of things, tension is a natural consequence.
That said, there's a strong argument to be made for making a Doctor Strange film a vehicle for a Blade revival. Scott Derrickson's first entry in that franchise drew plaudits for its visual effects, its inventive action sequences and for its concise runtime. A sequel will no doubt provide a greater sense of scale (as most sequels do), and with Derrickson already able to boast a formidable résumé when it comes to horror, working Blade into a story that pits Strange against a darker, more supernatural threat actually makes plenty of sense.
Add to that the fact that the two have crossed paths in the comics plenty of times before - including an instance where Strange was captured by Dracula himself - and you have the perfect pathway to bring Blade back.
Not that he couldn't anchor a film of his own of course - he can. If Marvel were looking to further integrate the character into the MCU however, the perfect character to make that happen would be Doctor Strange.
