MCU Phase 4: 15 Essential Rumours & Theories You Need To Know
12. Black Knight Leads Into A Captain Britain Movie
The Rumour:
Black Knight is apparently set to appear in Avengers: Endgame, although in what capacity is still unclear. Newsarama have also pointed out that reprints of classic Avengers comics featuring Black Knight around the same time Endgame releases could confirm that the character will be in the film, owing to Marvel's constant attempts to piggyback off the interest generated by the MCU.
The OTHER rumour is that Marvel have been pursuing the option of a Captain Britain movie for at least a year, and have even approached Guy Ritchie to direct. The rumour, first reported by Ain't it Cool News, states that production will take place in Pinewood and that Black Knight will be heavily involved, with the character even sharing equal billing in the title.
The Response:
This one's actually quite interesting, because no one expects Endgame to introduce anymore characters, especially with the film having to conclude the stories of several characters, including Captain America and Iron Man. Presumably Marvel would probably want to hold off on introducing such a character with the film's primary concern being to resolve the story of the old Avengers, but stranger things have happened before.
While it's unlikely that Black Knight will play a key role in Endgame, audiences may be wise to prepare themselves for a sneaky cameo and/or after-credits sequence. A lot of people seem fairly convinced that Marvel Studios have plans for him, so there could yet be truth to this one.
As for Captain Britain, AICN's source is anonymous and unverified, but Kevin Feige has previously mentioned that actors have enquired about the part in the past, so there may be hope yet.
