MCU Phase 4: 5 Things You Need To Know About The Ultimates
1. Marvel Have Already Foreshadowed Their Arrival
This has already been touched upon, with links to Galactus that could bring the team into the main MCU story, however, there are many wider links to several heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Black Panther and Captain Marvel have already been seen on the big screen, with their solo ventures proving popular amongst both mainstream audiences and die-hard Marvel comic book fans. Both heroes have proven their ability to work well with various other heroes as well, with T'Challa being introduced in 2016's Captain America: Civil War and Captain Marvel displaying her true strength in Avengers: Endgame.
Both heroes are here to stay in the MCU, with possibility opening up for the remaining three members of the Ultimates in future outings. Blue Marvel has been a stable member of Marvel canon since the character's conception in 2006, with key roles in the 'Secret Wars' and 'Civil War II' storylines. Also, Miss America was one main part of the 'A-Force' team in Secret Wars and Spectrum is none other than Monica Rambeau, who MCU fans have already met in Captain Marvel, where she was played by Akira Akbar. Almost thirty years on from the events of that film, and it's clear Lieutenant Trouble could be a hero.
With each of the heroes having their own links to extended MCU canon, it seems likely that - provided both Marvel Studios and Feige himself want it - an Ultimates movie could be on the cards for Phase Four of the MCU. Here's hoping it comes together just as well as the first Avengers did in 2012, if it even comes at all!
