While it may not be as egregious as some of our previous examples, the current political climate is dicey enough as it is, without turning one of the biggest icons of freedom into basically a Nazi.

The book that conveyed this idea, Secret Empire, did not only twist one of the world's greatest characters into a fascist, but an entire group of the Avengers, creating a hellscape version of the Marvel Universe in the process. The worst part about this was the fact that it was actually set in continuity, as opposed to being an Elseworlds-esque storyline.

Oh, and, Marvel, this still won't work if you reveal a different hero to have been a member of Hydra all along. The simple matter is that it just isn't all that appropriate, and that rule goes double for the MCU, which caters to audiences of all ages.
