While there's an argument to be made that the New Avengers series Marvel are most likely to adapt is the one that saw Luke Cage and Jessica Jones join the team's roster, it's still a longshot. Jonathan Hickman and Steve Epting's Avengers, on the other hand, actually has a pretty good chance of making its way to the big screen, owing both to its roster, and to the fact Marvel have already taken elements from his comics - most recently for Avengers: Infinity War.

The basic premise of New Avengers is this: Mister Fantastic, Iron Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Black Bolt, Namor and Captain America form a secret Illuminati to safeguard the Infinity Gems. Eventually, Cap leaves and the X-Men's Beast joins, but the principle is still the same. Eventually, events transpire that see the fabric of the multiverse placed in great jeopardy, and the Illuminati, pushing their morals to their very limits, have to find a way to make things right.

With inter-dimensional goodness, high-stakes drama and a fascinating team dynamic, it's little wonder why Hickman's work has already influenced some elements of the MCU. However, Marvel can easily go one step further by introducing this new kind of Avengers, and introduce a little anarchy to the team once more.
