MCU Phase 4: 8 Reasons Why It Must Look To The Past

4. Some Big Changes Are In Store

Although the fate of Marvel's Avengers is still unclear, we know for a fact that Infinity War and Avengers 4 will bring drastic changes. That's pretty exciting as far as Marvel fans are concerned, but there is a worry that we'll be left with a very unrecognisable universe once all the dust has settled, one without a place for the Tony Starks and Steve Rogers of the world.

The thought of Marvel going all out and doing something else entirely is obviously fantastic, and with the proven successes of Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok all having shown that audiences are after something new with their comic book films, it's clearly a viable route for Marvel to take. That said, it would be nice to see the studio return to some of their franchise staples at some point, be it in a historical setting or otherwise.

For all we love Marvel's newfound direction to go in new and often exciting places, that doesn't mean they should abandon their old concepts altogether. Other characters, like Black Widow, Hawkeye and Falcon, are long overdue their chance in the spotlight. It's all well and good to bring in new characters, but when we have heroes like Natasha still waiting for their own film, something's evidently not right.
