One of the stranger absences from Phase 3 has been Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, who we last saw in Age of Ultron and in the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Bar that, Fury's yet to make a Marvel comeback. His name's been mooted for the upcoming Captain Marvel prequel, but he's yet to resurface as of 2017. Even SLJ himself seems slightly perplexed as to the situation at hand, with confusion surrounding his role (or again, lack thereof) in Infinity War leading fans to question whether the MCU still has place for everyone's favourite S.H.I.E.L.D. Other Fury-based rumours have posited that he could, potentially, be a Skrull. While it would take a tremendous amount of goodwill from fans to accept that the Fury they've known all-along is actually an alien invader, the former Director's candidacy for a role as an alien spy certainly seems strong, especially if Marvel follow a certain storyline from the comics...
