MCU Phase 4: How And When We'll See Mutants
1. The X-Men
But while the future of mutants in the MCU is looking bright at the moment, this doesn't mean we should get our hopes up for an X-Men movie anytime soon. Marvel has a tried and tested formula when introducing new characters which I doubt they'll be changing anytime soon.
To avoid cinematic disasters like Suicide Squad and Justice League, the studio prefers a more measured approach when it comes to new introductions. Think of how Natasha Romanoff was first introduced in Iron Man 2, as well as both T'Challa and Peter Parker in Civil War.
And this is why we should expect to see only a few mutants introduced over the course of Phase 4. It's only after Marvel Studios have given these characters sufficient airtime that we can start to look forward to some or other cataclysmic event calling for them to fight side-by-side. Likelier still is that it'll be only after this Avengers-style team up that we'll see the X-Men in the MCU once and for all.
Remember, perfection can't be rushed. If fans want Marvel to create an X-Men franchise that stands the test, we'll have to be patient.
