First Appearance: Captain Marvel #14

Like Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen, Kamala Khan made an instant impact when they debuted earlier this decade. She's the heart and soul of the Marvel Universe as it exists today, and as the MCU gears up for the arrival of one modern marvel in Carol Danvers, it should also prepare for the introduction of another in Kamala.

Introduced in 2013 by Sana Anamat, Stephen Wacker, G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona, Kamala is Marvel's most iconic Muslim superhero and one of the most important heroes they've introduced during the 21st Century. Wilson's series in particular has been lauded from start to finish, with the book itself having provided a charming, heartwarming and thoroughly enjoyable presence on comic shop shelves everywhere for the last four-or-so years.

It really is brilliant, and with Carol Danvers set to impart a cinematic legacy of her own just next year, Marvel Studios would be wise to plan for Kamala's arrival, particularly if they plan on making the 'Marvel mantle' an intrinsic element of the franchise going forward.
