MCU Phase 4: Predicting Every Unannounced Movie

9. Black Widow

Although pretty-much confirmed at this stage, Marvel are yet to give Scarlett Johansson's long-gestating Black Widow film the full press release treatment, with reports of Blacklist's Jac Schaeffer writing the script the only thing to go on so far.

And yet, the weirdest thing about the Black Widow film is that it's taken so long to happen in the first place. This should've been a Phase Two project, let alone a fourth one, and while it's not exactly a case of 'too little, too late', it's frankly bizarre that it's taken eight actual years to get off the ground.

Still though, there's a high chance that Black Widow could yet occupy a place in Marvel's 2020 slate, or even the year afterwards. There's certainly no shortage of ideas for a potential Widow film, and with Marvel now playing catch-up with DC in regards to women-led comic book features, it's clear that the company have plenty of ground to make up in more than one respect.

Natasha Romanoff has been the face of the MCU for years now. Making a spin-off should never have been this difficult.
