MCU Phase 5: 10 Major Spider-Man Predictions That Must Happen

1. Phase 5 Will Set Up Storylines That Leave Spider-Man's Involvement Open-Ended

Spider-Man Phase 5

Nothing lasts forever.

It's a harsh reality of the MCU that we've struggled to accept. No more Iron Man. No more Steve Rogers. We'll likely say goodbye (again) to Natasha Romanoff after Black Widow. Nothing lasts forever in the MCU, not even Spider-Man.

Sony and Marvel have already had their ups and downs over only five years of working together. Marvel wants to incorporate Spider-Man into the MCU as much as possible. Sony wants to create a Spider-Verse that breaks the box office and lets them keep every penny.

Unless some miracle mutual decision is made that lets everyone have their cake and eat it too, Peter Parker's time in the MCU is limited.

If Marvel plays it smart, they won't get greedy. Instead, they'll maximize their current agreement and create fantastic pieces of cinema. It's in their best interest to prioritize their relationship with Sony and show gratitude for every opportunity to use this iconic character.

One way to show appreciation is to not assume they can write Spider-Man into the future of the MCU. Marvel would be wise to leave Phase 5 open-ended for Spider-Man's return.

Nothing lasts forever, but that doesn't mean Spider-Man's grand finale must come so soon.
