It's been a long road, but Black Panther is finally on his way into the MCU. Since his homeland of Wakanda was referenced to back in 2010's Iron Man 2, Marvel has only continued to lay down the groundwork for his inevitable arrival, most recently highlighting the importance of Vibranium and setting up Panther villain Ulysses Klaue in Age of Ultron.

Though his own solo adventure won't be arriving until 2018 - a decade after the MCU kicked off - the world at large will get their first exposure to T'Challa when Chadwick Boseman arrives as the character in next year's Captain America: Civil War. He's such a vastly different figure than the other major players audiences have grown accustomed to over the years that it'll be refreshing to see how his neutral position pays off in the conflict and beyond.

Unfortunately, we still don't know much about what to expect in 2018 or just how big a role he'll be playing in the Captain America sequel, but that's done little to abate our excitement over finally seeing the character in costume and on the big screen after years of the MCU's teasing.
