MCU: What Captain Marvel Means For Avengers: Endgame

6. Captain Marvel Is In Endgame From The Start

The mid-credits scene of Captain Marvel is one of the movie's biggest talking points, since it connects directly to Avengers: Endgame. There have been a number of theories about how Carol Danvers will show up in Avengers - the Quantum Realm! Soul World! She saves Tony Stark! - but this makes it much more simple.

Rather than appearing halfway through or towards the end, Captain Marvel is going to be around for pretty much the entire movie. The mid-credits scene finds the Avengers trying to figure out what's going on with Nick Fury's pager, and Steve Rogers still has his beard, placing the scene not long after Infinity War. Everything we've seen of Steve in Endgame has had him clean-shaven, so the scene is either part of the movie's opening, or set just before it (or there's some CGI trickery going on).

That means Captain Marvel is going to meet the team, prove herself to them, and be a major part of any plan they make. That's sensible, as it'll mean she's a more grounded part of the action and can feel like a member of the team, rather than turning up as a deux ex machina later on.
