MCU X-Men: 10 Actors Who Could Play Wolverine
6. Richard Armitage
Richard Armitage is an actor who knows how to carry himself within a notable franchise, with his role as Thorin in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy coming to mind. As well as this, the Brit's portrayal of Thorin depicted a character who was as tough as they come, valiant and dutiful to his last breath much like Jackman’s portrayal of Wolverine.
Although the trilogy of films did not live up to the same expectations as its infamous predecessors, the Hannibal star was a serious standout and introduced his acting expertise and minerals to mainstream audiences across the pond.
Of course, Armitage is no stranger to the role of Logan himself, voicing the character in Wolverine: The Long Night podcast.
Although the 50-year-old could only offer his voice to the role, the actor poured his heart and soul into it as a behind-the-scenes look revealed how physically invested Armitage was, and how said actions were replicated within his voice acting. The Leicester native understood how beloved and iconic Wolvie is to those faithful to the character back in 2018, and would only do the character justice again on the big screen.
The Harlan Coben loyalist may be on the older side, but his background in theatre, similar to Jackman’s, can only be further evidence of his potential commitment to the role.
