Men In Black International Review: 2 Ups & 7 Downs

6. Chris Hemsworth's Phoned-In Performance

Men In Black
Sony

As great as Chris Hemsworth usually is, his performance here just feels a little off.

Clearly the script doesn't give him prime material to sink his teeth into, but a depressing number of his quips just fall totally flat, and it too often feels like he's basically playing Thor stuffed into a sharp suit (over-the-top English accent and all).

On paper he's a great fit to play the new male lead of a Men in Black movie, but it just didn't come together, and aside from a few not-bad moments opposite Thompson, he looks mentally checked-out for the film's entirety.

Hemsworth's proven himself a fine comedic and dramatic actor in recent years, yet his turn here is a whole lotta nothing.
