Michael Cera: 5 Impressive Film Performances

4. Nick Twisp - Youth In Revolt (2010)

youth in revolt

This film displayed that there is more to Ceras acting range. Audiences were given the opportunity to see his role as the anxious yet smitten teenager, Nick Twisp. Nick meets the bright and striking Sheeni Saunders, who like Nick favours similar tastes of music and the two become romantically involved. This is when we are introduced to something new from the talented actor. Nick creates a suave and disobedient alter-ego named Francois Dillinger, also played by Cera, who is a complete opposite of Nick and the two simultaneously appear on screen for the course of the film. Notably, much of the humour received from the audience is the French bad boy who adopts a deeper voice and sports a fashionably moustache and through his influence, leads Nick into trouble. Luckily for the benefit of Nick, this enables him to move in with his father and to remain closer to Sheeni. The manner of how the confidence radiates from Cera in this movie is much of a joy for fans to watch and gains an earned place on the list.
