2. Evan - Superbad (2007)
This film starring Cera alongside Jonah Hill as two teenagers faced with the predicament of going to different colleges after graduation, express grief about their virginity and social standing. When invited to a party by the striking Jules (Emma Stone) the two promise to bring alcohol to the party once met with the advantage of revealing plans to obtain fake ID. After its release, Superbad formed Cera a name for him after the commercial and critical success received from its opening week. Arguably this film began the common trend of the current bromance movies audiences have grown accustomed to. This film saw Cera embracing that familiarised socially awkward character role, but with amusing consequences giving the audience a taste for more. Nevertheless despite being outshone by Jonah Hills entertaining performance, this demonstrated that Cera had the capability to amuse us and make us irrefutably and recurrently cringe at his ill-advised actions.
