Michael Fassbender: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

It seems to be the fate of every major actor now to have a role in a franchise movie. A well paying part they can dip in and out of every few years in-between other projects. He couldn€™t have chosen better when he took on the role of young Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto to his mates) in the X-Men series.

Inheriting a role from the great Ian McKellen must be a daunting task for any actor but Fassbender completely captures Magneto's tortured psyche. A concentration camp survivor with a deep seated hatred of mankind, Magneto is the rare comic book movie villain that is a fully fleshed out three-dimensional character. The audience can understand where his actions come from and they still sympathise with him when he does some questionable things.

His performances reached their peak in Apocalypse - even though it's the least of the movies he starred in as Magneto. He's like a raw nerve, shredded by the death of his family, and he sells the emotion of his situation perfectly.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
