MIRRORS featurette

There's quite a few echoes to last year's adaptation of the Stephen King horror 1408 at play in the upcoming Kiefer Sutherland horror Mirrors - not least the idea of a man who has lost so much emotionally locked in a very claustrophobic environment where some weird shit happens and we have to wonder if it's all real or just him having a slight case of the crazies.

It's due out in August from talented director Alexandra Aja (Switchblade Romance) and looks like the kind of character driven psychological horror that we don't see enough of these days from the top Hollywood acting talent. It should be pretty cool seeing Kiefer lead a movie again, it feels like quite a while but it's great to have him back... Here's a behind the scenes featurette from Shock Till You Drop...

I'm liking the tone, feels very much like a Stephen King story maybe with an added touch of M. Night Shyamalan.

Surprise surprise, it's a remake of a not so well known Korean horror from 2003 titled Into the Mirror and is the second time Aja has gone redo route having in the last few years remade Wes Craven's 70's horror The Hills Have Eyes.

If the trailer keeps up the interest of that feature then I'm all for this... I love the genre and will seek out anything remotely interesting in the vain hope of seeing something of worth. One thing I'm just wondering though... is Kiefer really trying to kill a ghost with bullets?
