2. Mike And Sully
Woody and Buzz, Marlin and Dory, Carl and Russell; Pixar sure can do double acts. Mike and Sully are a loving pair the cuddly scarer and his one eyed assistant, big shots in Monstopolis begin the first film as friends, making their relationship believable from the off. They really are a unique duo, with Mikes over eagerness perfectly complimented by Sullys more reserved nature; its no wonder theyre one of Pixars strongest creations. Mike and Sully work because they are, for all their differences and extremities, best friends. Already being pals outside of the confines of the story highlights just how strong a friendship they have. The short that accompanies the DVD release of Monsters, Inc., Mikes New Car, is completely removed from the greater concept, allowing the characters to just be themselves, showing they weren't just great as accompaniments to a plot and bodes well for their featuring in an entirely different setting. Billy Crystal has said the duo will be in their late teens in University, which promises a completely different angle, with a more awkward, less cocky or understanding personalities. To see what a character was like can often be more intriguing than what they will become and this is certainly true with Mike and Sully.
