1. It's The Worst Marvel Superhero Movie In YEARS

Make no mistake, it isn't hyperbolic in the slightest to call Morbius the worst Marvel superhero film in many years.

Eternals was disappointing, and both Venom films weren't great, but each seems positively competent and broadly entertaining compared to Morbius.

The New Mutants? Dark Phoenix? X-Men: Apocalypse? All better than this. Hell, even Josh Trank's Fantastic Four feels like it's coming from a place of greater creativity and invention.

Mileage will certainly vary on precisely how bad Morbius is, but it is an absolute low-point for Marvel's recent cinematic output, and Kevin Feige couldn't be blamed in the slightest for wanting to put as much distance between it and the MCU as possible.

It is a textbook example of how lousy superhero movies used to be, and how much more consistent they've become over the last 15-or-so years.

So, Morbius isn't good, then, but it's not without a few praise-worthy aspects. Here's what actually works...
