3. God - Bruce Almighty/Evan Almighty
Morgan Freeman plays God. It really is beyond self-parody, except both movies are painfully unfunny. Freeman's voice and paternal demeanour got him the role of God, but it's just impossible to care as everything is so predictable and this kind of thing comes so easy to Freeman, it looks as if he's hardly trying. The Jim Carrey original is the superior of the two, but that's incredibly faint praise considering what an over-inflated mess the sequel is. It's tiresome nonsense and the idea of Freeman as God should have been left to adolescent boys on internet forums, not $200 million movies. Freeman has always had a natural ability to be witty with a sly sense of humour but none of that is here as both films are flat, inconsequential and a waste of an interesting concept.
