2. Max Richter's Electronic Score

It won't be ending up in any year-end awards conversations, but Max Richter's pulsing electronic score is a major highlight that clearly belongs in a much better film.

Ratcheting up the intensity when things go haywire while also evoking a more serene mood in the calmer first half, Richter melds synths with orchestral swells to entrancing effect, and again, it's just a shame the rest of the movie isn't as strong as his fine work here.
