3. The Soundtrack
One of the most recognisable parts of the franchise is the fantastic theme song that manages to blend techno music with soundbites from the original arcade game. It's one of the most iconic elements of the entire franchise and is perfect for getting audiences hyped up for some Mortal Kombat action, first featuring on the home versions of the arcade game but being hugely popularised by the first movie.
It's not been confirmed if the classic song will be included in the new film, but Benjamin Wallfisch has been confirmed to be the film's composer. Wallfisch has worked on IT Chapter One and Two, Shazam! and Blade Runner 2049. With such an impressive career already, it's safe to say that the film's soundtrack is in safe hands. Perhaps the classic song will be remixed to fit in with the modern tone.
If the last few entries in the video game franchise are anything to go off, we can likely expect there to be individual themes for at least a handful of the main characters. The latest game in the series, Mortal Kombat 11, even featured tracks from 21 Savage and Zatrix.
