8. The Housemaid's Secret
Even though it was adapted from a hugely popular airport novel, nobody expected last year's dishy thriller The Housemaid to gross a stonking $400 million worldwide, and so within a matter of weeks a sequel was announced.
The second film will adapt The Housemaid's Secret, the sophomore entry in Freida McFadden's novel series, with Sydney Sweeney set to return as troubled housemaid Millie, who finds herself crossing paths with another tumultuous family.
The couple this time around will be played by Kristen Dunst (!) and Paul Anthony Kelly, while Michele Morrone will reprise his role as groundskeeper Enzo, and Brittany Snow was also recently confirmed to have joined the cast.
Paul Feig will once again direct, and considering the first film managed to demonstrate a sure self-awareness of its own trashiness without overtly disparaging the source material, there's every chance Feig pulls it off again.
The Housemaid's Secret releases December 17, 2027.
