The Last of The Mohicans
Why you'll love it: Number one, it's a Michael Mann film. That's become synonymous with excellence. An historical epic is not the usual canvas Mann likes to paint on but sometimes branching out leads to great things and, The Last Of The Mohicans proved to be a great movie. Many battles, sense of brotherhood, Daniel Day Lewis absolutely killing it, (does he ever, not?) and the stunning beauty of Madeleine Stowe -- yes to all of it. Again, a movie mixing epic action with sweeping romance, (sensing a pattern here?) this movie has something for everyone.
Why mom will love it: Daniel Day Lewis. So handsome and romantic with that long hair and ferocity in his eyes. Not my words (ok, technically my words) but your mother's thoughts while watching the movie. Women love adventures as much as men but when Daniel Day Lewis utters this line to Madeleine Stowe, "Stay alive, no matter what occurs! I will find you. No matter how long it takes, no matter how far, I will find you. I will find you!" it's a done deal. Tissues in hand. Tears. And mom will probably be crying too.
