20 Secret Movie Villains EVERYONE Saw Coming

Detective Pikachu's Big Bad is eventually revealed to be Howard Clifford (Bill Nighy), the aged creator of Ryme City and founder of Clifford Industries whose master plan involves merging humans and Pokémon.

And in case that's not enough, he also plotted to have Tim's (Justice Smith) father Harry (Ryan Reynolds) killed when he found out about it.

But c'mon, why else would you cast an actor of Bill Nighy's repute in a damn Pokémon movie if he's not gonna do some evil monologuing?

Nighy can nail a role like this in his sleep, and considering that his character also happens to be a big corporate honcho, it was incredibly easy to finger him as the ultimate antagonist.

Even though the film introduced Howard's son Roger (Chris Geere) as a half-baked red herring, there was only ever one way this was going.

Admittedly it wasn't quite so easy to guess that he'd end up transferring his consciousness into Mewtwo to wreak havoc.
