2. Idris Elba
The best tash to cancel the apocalypse and play the accordion, Idris Elba has done it all. Definitely the most soave option on the list, theres coolness around the actor that shines through in his work. Hes given his everything to the characters hes portrayed, and usually steals any scene hes involved in. From small screen ventures in the likes of The Wire and Luther, to the biggest blockbusters in Thor, Prometheus and this years Pacific Rim, Idris Elba has shown a diversity and charm only a select few actors possess. No doubt some fanboys would be up in arms if an actor with a different skin colour to white was cast, but there have never been any characteristics in James Gordon that would suggest its necessary for him to be Caucasian. It would most definitely set up this Batman world as separate to Christopher Nolans trilogy, and leave one of Gothams most important citizens in extremely talented hands.
