New Deadpool Trailer: 8 Major Revelations From Director Tim Miller

2. Deadpool's Gettin' A Montage

Montages in comic book movie either work or don't, but if there's one character who can make good use of one, it's definitely Deadpool! In fact, the movie utilising one is going to address something the comic books haven't really bothered to, and that's how Wade Wilson goes about creating that bright red suit he wears as he heads into action. The trailer already makes it clear that he decides to suit up to save the woman he loves (that's Morena Baccarin's Vanessa, a character the director describes as a strong female lead that women have responded well to in test screenings), but surely he dons a red costume for a better reason that just hiding his wounds, right? "The suit-up sequence wasn€™t something we had in the original plan and there was just so much pressure," Miller reveals. "I kind of felt like, €˜F*ck, I€™ve seen the suit-up sequence a thousand times, I don€™t want to do another suit-up sequence€™. But then, we found this way to make it different and more Deadpool and you see him, in the movie you€™ll see him during this little montage we have, it€™ll kind of progress from the beginning to the end of his evolution and costume design. He€™s a self-made man, it€™s not like he had money and he can go and hire the best superhero tailors out there. He€™s got to do it himself." What this specifically involves remains to be seen then, but it's apparently "very Deadpool and f*cking cool", so it already sounds awesome.
