20 Recent Horror Movies That NEED Sequels
16. Onslaught
Adam Wingard's bonkers new action-horror film Onslaught follows Celeste (Adria Arjona), a former Army sniper who finds herself facing off against a trio of genetically engineered super-soldiers which have escaped from a military facility.
The film ends on something of an ambiguous note, with Celeste defeating the super-soldiers yet being kept under observation by the U.S. government, with the cryptic suggestion that despite the soldiers' deaths, their rampage was a showcase of their potential.
This absolutely lays the groundwork for another movie, and considering that filmmaker Adam Wingard confirmed Onslaught to be set within the same universe as his much-loved 2014 film The Guest, why not make the next film a sequel that unites the narratives of The Guest and Onslaught?
Though many would love to see The Guest's protagonist David (Dan Stevens) back in the mix, the fact that both The Guest and Onslaught flopped at the box office makes it rather unlikely that Wingard gets to make a direct sequel to either. Shame.
