20 Recent Horror Movies That NEED Sequels
13. Black Phone 2
The Black Phone could've absolutely been a one-off horror film and nothing more, but last year's sequel boldly resurrected its terrifying serial killer, The Grabber (Ethan Hawke), as a dream-stalking, Freddy Krueger-esque phantom.
Though The Grabber once again perished at the end of the film, the series' loosey-goosey supernatural logic makes it easy to bring him back for one more trilogy-capping entry.
After all, Black Phone 2 was a massive box office success, and between Ethan Hawke's terrifying performance and Scott Derrickson's stylishly creepy filmmaking, there's surely some life left in this franchise yet.
And honestly, the hardest part might already be done, given that Hawke himself came up with one hell of an idea for Black Phone 3.
He wants the threequel to follow The Grabber in Hell, which would certainly be a neat way to once again change things up from the previous films.
Either way, with how much easy money there is to be made in another movie, it's highly likely to happen at some point.
