20 Recent Horror Movies That NEED Sequels
12. Silent Night, Deadly Night
The recent Silent Night, Deadly Night remake was one of the most pleasantly surprising horror films of recent years - a genuinely superior reimagining in many respects which took the basic original slasher concept and ran off in its own unhinged direction.
And the movie certainly ends with a compelling setup for a sequel, as killer Billy (Rohan Campbell) dies but transfers his consciousness into the mind of his love interest Pam (Ruby Modine), the pair seemingly sharing her body as they embark on a new killing spree.
It's a fun-as-hell setup for another movie, and filmmaker Mike P. Nelson has teased some "really fun and crazy ideas" he has for a potential sequel, with stars Rohan Campbell and Ruby Modine reportedly both interested in returning.
But as ever, it comes down to financials, and with the remake grossing just $5.6 million at the global box office, it doesn't seem massively likely that this will justify a sequel being made. It'd be great to be wrong, though.
