20 Announced Movie Sequels NOBODY Expected
11. Primitive War 2
If you haven't heard of Primitive War - and there's a good chance you haven't - it's an Australian sci-fi horror film released last year, based on Ethan Pettus' novel series of the same name.
The film sees a group of soldiers in the Vietnam War come face to face with dinosaurs transported there by a science experiment.
It's as wackadoo as it sounds, and though Primitive War received broadly positive reviews, it grossed barely $1 million worldwide against its $7 million budget, leaving apparently little potential for a sequel.
But the film must've absolutely blown the hell up on streaming, because this past January it was confirmed that Primitive War 2 is in the works with writer-director Luke Sparke set to return.
Few other details are known as of yet - namely whether it'll take direct cues from any of Pettus' other novels - but the sequel is currently expected to release by the end of 2027.
