New Mutants Movie: 10 X-Men Characters We Want To See
3. Wolfsbane
Another founding member of the original team in the comics, Wolfsbane is one of the dozens of mutants out there with animal-based powers. In effect, shes a werewolf. But thats magic, not mutation, right? Wolfsbane isnt limited to the full moon for her transformations, and can change into either a normal wolf or a half-wolf, half-human hybrid at will. Her powers also come with heightened senses and a set of feral instincts that the character struggles to control. Oh, and shes Scottish, which means she is, by default, strongly independent and quick to anger. Hmm. Animalistic qualities. Short temper. Claws. Sound like anyone else we know? If theyre ousting most of the regular X-Men cast with Apocalypse, theres a good chance Hugh Jackman wont be appearing in the future X-titles. Because audiences crave continuity, and film companies are loath to change a formula once its proven effective, chances are Fox will be looking for someone to replace Wolverine with. Of course, there are a lot of characters that could fit the bill, including his two sons, Daken and Jimmy Hudson, and his female clone, X-23. But Wolfsbane is ideal as Wolverines replacement as she has at least a tinge of originality, rather than just being a younger or gender-swapped Logan. Rahne was also a key player in the X-Factor books as well as the first volume of X-Force, so could play a key role if Fox are looking to tie their future projects together in a shared universe akin to Marvels Avengers. Just as long as they dont decide to make her Wolverines long-lost daughter.
With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
