Next Bond Director: 8 Best & 4 Worst Directors To Replace Danny Boyle
1. Paul Greengrass
There's been some suggestion over the past decade that Paul Greengrass would be considered a potential candidate to direct a Bond movie, if he wasn't so adamant that he didn't want to make one. And it's not like he hasn't talked about it:
“Honesty and truly no. I mean I know (Bond producer) Barbara Broccoli and we've discussed it. It's a bit like your football team, you can't... I'm a Bourne man, I like Bourne. And I've said before, listen it's a great, great franchisee of course it is, it's been going for 50 years, you've got to salute its success.”
Greengrass' Bourne experience might make him seem like a good possible hire, considering how much Craig's Bond drew from his American cousin's films, but the studio would be making a mistake to even acknowledge that they drew on that franchise so heavily by going back to the source.
And really, Greengrass' directing style is very much of a moment and he's threatening to let his style get in the way of audiences actually being able to see his action sequences. And that's not ideal for James Bond.
Who would you like to see handling the next Bond film?
