Next Bond Director: 8 Best & 4 Worst Directors To Replace Danny Boyle
7. Christopher McQuarrie
It may be sacrilege in some fans' eyes to suggest anyone not from the UK or Ireland could be considered to direct James Bond, but Christopher McQuarrie has earned the opportunity for consideration thanks to his work on another espionage franchise.
Anyone who was mesmerised by Mission: Impossible - Fallout's stunning action sequences will know that McQuarrie's eye for innovation shots and set-pieces makes him a great candidate to take on Her Majesty's finest spy. What his sequel lacked in plot substance was more than made up for in terms of action and character build.
He's already looking after America's answer to James Bond and the transition would be simple enough - especially if he brought someone like Simon Pegg on board for an English writing influence.
