Next Bond Director: 8 Best & 4 Worst Directors To Replace Danny Boyle
Worst
4. Martin Campbell
Martin Campbell has already made two great Bond films in Casino Royale and Goldeneye and in both cases his influence was what reinvented and saved the character from difficult circumstances. He's also popped up in conversation more recently as a possible future Bond director, but he's always said that he'd only be interested if he were able to start a new Bond again.
That makes him unlikely, since this is Daniel Craig's swansong, but even if he were willing, it would be a poor idea for the studio to be seen to be going backwards when the 25th Bond film should be seen as an auspicious opportunity. When the character is so frequently accused of being averse to diversification and progress, rehiring Campbell is perhaps not the best statement.
Plus, he's made Green Lantern since Casino Royale and that is a HARD thing to come back from.
