While it's reasonable to expect that the Bond producers will continue their trend of picking hot young chart-topping artists to perform the series' title songs, don't be surprised if they do occasionally defer to a legendary, long-established artist too.

And there's really no more likely choice than Radiohead, who have repeatedly expressed their desire to contribute a Bond song over the years.

The rock outfit were even commissioned to write a song for Spectre which, while ultimately rejected for being too dark and melancholic, was decidedly better than what we got from Sam Smith.

Though Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich called producing the song a "real waste of energy" considering it wasn't used, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is a huge James Bond fan, and so it's tough to imagine he'll be able to resist if invited back to pen another song for the franchise.

Radiohead obviously have what it takes to produce a Bond song that's a hit with the masses while bringing a little more edge to the table compared to more recent title tracks.
