Nick Nolte: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

1. Peter Brackett - I Love Trouble

Ever wondered why Nolte hasn't starred in many - or any, for that matter - rom coms of late? You'll find the answer in I Love Trouble, a clunky genre yarn deserved of the top spot. Paired up with Julia Roberts, Nolte generates zero chemistry with his co star, where they play bickering journos on the hunt for a milk conspiracy scoop. The two leads famously didn't get on during the filming of this surprisingly hollow Nancy Myers picture, with Nolte for the most part acting through gritted teeth and no doubt wondering how he let himself be so woefully miscast. While in the past casting Nolte against type has kind of worked - Cape Fear, Lorenzo's Oil - the gamble didn't pay off in this one, a movie that Nolte himself cites has being the worst film he's ever starred in. Got any more Nolte nuggets of thesping gold to share with us? Or are there some stinkers not included on this list? You know the drill: hope to the comments thread below and wax lyrical.
